Children Of The Wood Sensory Sessions

Weekly outdoor nature-based sensory sessions for children aged 6 months to 6 years, offering calm and enriching experiences built around a balance of unstructured, child-led play and guided activities, providing a gentle introduction to the natural world and its elements.

Set within a serene, nature-rich environment, children are invited to explore freely at their own pace, engaging with natural materials such as mud, water, leaves, flowers, and sand. These experiences support sensory and emotional development, strengthen overall wellbeing, and nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lasting connection to nature.

Each session combines open-ended free play with thoughtfully prepared nature sensory trays, alongside songs, storytelling, and opportunities for animal feeding, creating a rich and engaging experience for every child.

Mixed-age sessions create a natural learning environment where younger children observe and learn from older peers, while older children develop confidence, empathy, and leadership through modelling behaviour.

Sessions provide a calm and nurturing setting where children can build confidence, develop early social skills, and form meaningful connections through play, while families enjoy a shared space to slow down and reconnect in nature.

Caregivers are required to attend all sessions, supporting children as they explore and engage safely with the environment.
